Numerical Simulation on Transient Pressure Pulsations and Complex Flow Structures of a Ultra-High-Speed Centrifugal Pump at Stalled Condition

A high-speed centrifugal pump is the key facility to deliver oil in an aero-engine. The stable operation quite important safety of engine. High-speed stability essentially caused by transient pressure pulsations excited complex flow within pump, which needs be clarified, especially for under a rotating stall condition. In current research, unsteady pulsation and corresponding distribution are analyzed using delayed detached-eddy simulation (DDES) method. Pressure signals extracted monitoring points. Results show that dominant components spectrum exhibit significant difference at various rates, locates blade passing frequency fBPF rated working condition deviates five times shaft (5fn) stalled Such phenomenon not observed normal with low speed when numerical experiment methods, usually amplitude reaches maximum. Under condition, component 0.2fn generated considered as frequency, same different rates. From velocity distribution, it found several channels characterized large-scale separation bubbles, induced triggered volute tongue.
